The importance of defining expectations and building trust as first steps to the development of suitable recommendations is discussed. 5 primary types of insurable risks and 4 ways to manage them are outlined. You will learn some specific concepts and questions you can use to help your prospects prioritize their needs. The course concludes by giving you some solid ideas you can use to implement Risk Management Insights into your practice.

Suitability Made Easy - 2 hours
Every advisor or agent is required by insurance departments, securities regulators, insurance carrier rules or codes of professional conduct to make suitable recommendations to each client. This course exams specific suitability requirements and shows advisors how to efficiently and reliably gather and document important suitability information. This helps to assure suitability standards are met so appropriate recommendations can be made. Agents and advisors benefit because they will learn to save time, avoid unsuitable recommendations, position themselves to make appropriate recommendations and serve more client needs.

Annuities 101 - 1 hour
In this course we focus on the important role annuities can play in achieving financial success. We focus on the basics of defining the terms and the parties to an annuity contract. We take a broad look at the various types of commercial annuities available and a close look at how Fixed Indexed Annuities work. We conclude with a review of the taxation of annuity contracts and suitability issues that are important for agents and advisors to consider before they recommend annuities to their prospects and clients.

Long-term Care 101 - 1 hour
You will learn how what makes successful LTCi producers productive. You will better understand the prospect’s concerns and how to establish suitability. We will examine some key policy provisions that make significant differences between one LTCi policy and another. You will be delighted to learn of the tax incentives that help buyers pay LTCi premiums and we review the benefit triggers and the three type of benefits payments available from various long-term care policies.

Life Insurance 101 - 1 hour
This course starts with a look at the reasons for owning life insurance and explores both the death benefits and living benefits of owning this unique property. Ownership and beneficiary designations considerations will be examined. Suitability issues related to determining how much, and what type of policy, to recommend to your prospects and clients. The features of various types of policies will be reviewed as well as what you need to know to ethically examine the consideration of a tax-free exchange of an existing life insurance policy for a new one.

Life Insurance Rescue

In this course we focus on important changes that have occurred in Life Insurance Policies over the past 10 years. Falling interest rates have impacted original Universal Life insurance projections. The new 2001 Mortality tables have lowered the guaranteed cost of insurance in new life insurance policies. We explore how Return of Premium Term insurance, Guaranteed Death Benefits and no-Lapse Guarantee riders on new Universal Life Insurance present your clients with new insurance choices. We conclude with a case study that examines how new products may or may not better serve clients and the issues you should consider before recommending the replacement of an existing life insurance policy.

This course examines the how different types of agents and agencies approach the health insurance market. We take a look at the concerns of CFO’s and how they are driving the health care decision making process at companies both small and large. The 5 C’s that influence Consumer Driven Health Plans are examined and a case study using blended plan design shows you how to help your clients put some TNT into their CDHP.

Life Settlements – A Market Whose Time Has Come - 1 hour
What choices do you discuss with your client when they decide they no longer want or need one of their life insurance policies? In the past they could quit paying the premium either get nothing for their investment in the policy with term insurance or they could surrender the cash value from a permanent policy. The third option of a Life Settlement might be the best option for your client. This course introduces you to Life Settlements; what they are, why policy owners should consider them, the market opportunities and trends and the Life Settlement Process.

In this course we take a fast dash through the world of Tax-Exempt Trusts. We begin by dispelling many of the myths and misconceptions about charitable giving. We touch on some important estate and income tax issues and take a close look at the tax advantages of Tax-Exempt Trusts. We cover three examples to explain how Tax-Exempt Trusts can be used to increase retirement income, increase social capital and increase inheritance for heirs. You will be introduced to concepts that many of your prospects and clients will be eager to hear about.
